Danielle MacLean

Danielle MacLean is the owner of DCL Law. Originally from North Sydney, Nova Scotia, she is a graduate of Saint Mary’s University (B.A. 2000) and Dalhousie University (LL.B 2003) and was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2004. Her practice includes real estate, title insurance, wills, estate planning, contracts, and corporate law.

Danielle is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society and the Canadian Bar Association. She sits on the Board of Directors for the Real Estate Lawyers’ Association of Nova Scotia (RELANS), is the former Chair of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society Professional Standards (Real Estate) Committee, is the Chair of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society Real Estate Practice Working Group, is a member of the Land Registration Act Agreement Committee and the Nova Scotia Real Estate Commission Forms Committee, and is past co-chair of the Real Property Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association (Nova Scotia). Danielle was selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers Canada for her work in real estate law in 2023. She lives in Halifax with her family.

Brennan LeJean

Brennan LeJean is an associate with DCL Law. He grew up in Sydney, Nova Scotia, and attended Cape Breton University (BBA 2010) and University of New Brunswick (JD 2016). While at UNB, Brennan was the Vice President of the Law Students' Society and an active member in many other student organizations, including acting as Co-Chair of Pro Bono Students Canada’s Wills Project. He is an active member in the community, volunteering for several community and professional groups including previously acting as the Chair of the Cole Harbour Rural Heritage Society & Heritage Farm Museum, the Secretary of the Association of Collaborative Family Law Professionals of Nova Scotia, and a member of the board for the Dartmouth Community Chest Society. While Brennan has represented previous clients in all levels of Nova Scotia courts, including Provincial Court, the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, and the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal, he has focused in practice on Real Estate law as it is an area where he enjoys helping his clients most. He also has a particular interest in Entertainment Law, specifically the music industry, and received his Certificate in Entertainment Law from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2020. Brennan was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2017 and is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, the Real Estate Lawyers’ Association of Nova Scotia (RELANS), and the Canadian Bar Association.

Amanda Brousseau

Amanda Brousseau is an associate with DCL Law. She grew up in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, and attended Saint Mary’s University (BA 2013) and Dalhousie University (JD 2018). Amanda was the President of the Social Committee and the Vice President Student Life of the Law Students' Society at The Schulich School of Law. Prior to law school, Amanda was a Relocation Adviser to the RCMP with Brookfield Global Relocation Services. Amanda speaks French and Arabic in addition to offering services in English, and is is eager to help clients with whatever questions or problems they may have.

Eryn Murphy

Eryn Murphy is an associate with DCL Law. She grew up in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. She attended Dalhousie (BA 2015) and University of New Brunswick (JD 2021), where she was the Chair of the Speakers’ Committee and a mentor to incoming students. Prior to law school, she was a court reporter. She volunteers with women’s organizations and is improving her French to be able to help clients in both official languages. Eryn lives in Porters Lake.
Eryn was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2022 and is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society and the Real Estate Lawyers’ Association of Nova Scotia (RELANS).

Ashley Duguay

Ashley Duguay has been a Paralegal with DCL Law since 2010. Her paralegal skills are focused on the areas of Property, Wills & Estates, Family and Corporate Law. Ashley is originally from Truro, Nova Scotia and obtained her Paralegal Diploma at Success College of Applied Arts and Technology, Truro Campus in 2003. She is always eager and willing to take on new responsibilities and learn about different areas of law. She is married with two young sons and currently resides in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia. Ashley was appointed as Commissioner of Oaths for the Province of Nova Scotia in March 2013.

Tabitha Young

Tabitha Young joined our team as General Office Manager in 2023. She is originally from Toronto, Ontario but grew up in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. Tabitha moved to NS in 1996, graduated from NSCC in 2004, and has been working in property law since that time. She is the proud mom to two grown daughters and Nana to a beautiful granddaughter. She lives in Cole Harbour with her husband and their ‘Zoodle’ Gus.

Eden O’Hearn

Eden O’Hearn has been a Paralegal with DCL Law since 2018. Eden is originally from Kingston, Nova Scotia, and graduated from Nova Scotia Community College in 2005. She has been working in the area of Property Law since graduation, starting first as a title searcher in the Annapolis Valley before moving to Halifax to continue her work in property law. She is married and currently resides in Timberlea with her husband and Portuguese Water Dog, Fiddich, who often assists in 'Employee Wellness' as the office dog.

Ashley Andrus

Ashley Andrus is a paralegal with DCL Law. She joined our team after obtaining her diploma from Eastern College in 2021. Ashley grew up in Fall River, Nova Scotia. Prior to attending college, she was a small business owner. She is the proud mother to a daughter and two dogs. Ashley currently lives in Lawrencetown with her family.

Maggie Chickness

Maggie Chickness joined our team as a Paralegal in 2022. Maggie is originally from Pictou County, Nova Scotia and graduated from Nova Scotia Community College with her Paralegal Diploma in 2018. She began her career working in the area of Criminal Law but quickly found her way to Property Law in 2020. Maggie is adaptable and always eager to learn new things. She is a proud mother of one and lives in Halifax with her family.

Fiddich

Fiddich is a Portuguese Water Dog that has been with DCL Law since 2018. Fiddich was born and raised in Nova Scotia and enjoys long walks on the BLT Trail in his hometown of Timberlea. Fiddich is an integral part of our team and specializes in making people smile.
